Who am I?
Hi, I’m Kristen.
I started Ridgeline HR because I saw friends, colleagues, and community members making the same preventable HR mistakes, and I knew I could help.
After working in recruiting and HR I noticed a pattern. Small businesses were either winging it on their own or paying for corporate HR solutions that were too expensive, too rigid, and frankly too impersonal for where they actually were. No one was filling this gap, so why not me?
My background is a little unconventional, and I think that’s a good thing. I have spent most of my career in the outdoor industry; an industry that attracts passionate people who prioritize employment with companies who demonstrate shared values by taking care of their people. I get that world. I also teach Business at the college level, which means I think a lot about how organizations work, how people grow, and how the current business landscape is changing.
Recruiting and hiring is where my heart is. There is nothing more satisfying than helping an organization find just the right person and helping the right person find a job they truly fit. But I also know that great hiring is only half the battle. You need the policies, culture, and HR foundation to keep good people once you find them.
I hold a Masters of Business Administration from Western Colorado University and a Professional Human Resources certification through HRCI. I bring those foundations to every client I work with.
I am based in Asheville, NC and my passion for my community drives a lot of my work. My heart is here in the Blue Ridge Mountains, but I also have the capacity to work with clients in other locations remotely.
